God: Yes, and to your surprise, you may realise that you still have some time left to accommodate some more activities, which you can invest on things that you always wanted to do but could not due to lack of time. God: Great thanks! so once you are well energised and be clear in your thinking, you are in the best position to not only plan and prioritise your days activities well but execute them well also thus finding your self with the extra time which you can put back on to watching your daily TV soap. Me: Yes very much and this makes a perfect sense. Read carefully, as you put in this extra hour on sleep or sleep inducing engagement, your quality of sleep improves, this in turn makes you wake up fresh and brings in clarity of thinking everyday these 7 days and you carry this freshness to your physical hygiene activities that follows (engagement that requires body cleansing, exercise, food intake etc.), which in turn enhances it's quality and you feel more energised & positive as you prepare to start your day. God: Great question, here lies the secret. Me: Got it, I prioritised restfulness this way but how does it helps improve my overall life situations, which is my KEY quest? God: Put an hour gained either on sleep or anything that ensures sounds sleep such as meditation or listening to light music before sleep etc. Me: Ok, I take it, not that critical one but then how do I invest this one hour on my restfulness? This is how you play around with this activity, which I am assuming not that critical activity or engagement for you and you can afford to experiment with it. Now let us say for one week you decide you won't watch TV and one hour gained, you invest on restfulness. God: Let us say you enjoy watching TV soap and invest one hour of your active time to it on a daily basis. God: Yes you said it right - all of them seems important while few activities may be important the other few could be played around or at least you can live with them without too much of compromise on your values at least in the short term. But the bigger question is that how to reduce activities, as all activities seems important? Me: Agree, so reducing activities seems like the best bet. You often feel lost in life due to imbalance between the two. What we need is the balance between the two. So as you focus on reducing activities you start feeding into your restfulness and the vice versa. God: Rush of activities & restfulness are the two sides of the same coin. Isn't it? that's what I meant when I said " First right thing first" It is only when you are restful, your activity produce better results. God: So the first right engagement has to be rest not activity. Something without which life does not exist for you. God: Observe, your current life engagements that you engage on 24 hours of your day and figure out which engagement is basic or core to your life. Me: How to I determine the first right thing? Because the first right thing that you engage on makes the following set of engagements, either easier or unnecessary and the cycle continues.till you attain the best state of your life. Me: How does prioritisation or reprioritisation help? God: Since all engagements of your life are well connected with each other, you can take charge of your life by reprioritising your life engagements/activities. Presenting here the dialogue, slight longer but you would finish in no time, if you find the conversation engaging.īefore I put the conversation details here, let me thank God for providing his space to help me reflect my voice within. This blog uses the same format Walsch used in his book. It was written as a dialogue in which Walsch asks questions and God answers. Conversations with God ( CwG) is a sequence of books written by Neale Donald Walsch.
